TAX YEAR (TY) 2024 OVERVIEW
For FY2024, Poway TCE will once again be hosted by Poway’s Mickey Cafagna Community Center (MCCC), situated at 13094 Civic Center Dr, Poway, CA 92064 [View Google Map]. No cost tax return preparation and filing by IRS certified preparers will be available by appointment only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM, commencing on February 11, 2025.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
While there isn't a taxpayer age requirement for using our service, under TCE program guidelines, taxpayers 60 and over will be prioritized, if appointment slots fill up. You are encouraged to schedule an appointment, as soon as you have all necessary documentation, to avoid potentially being unable to get an appointment. To utilize the TCE service, your total yearly income must be less than $200K.

There are some limitations on the types of tax return situations we can handle per TCE program guidelines. Some of the out-of-scope tax situations are listed in Info & Intake Sheet for New & Returning Clients.

To expedite your tax preparation, complete your information intake form before you arrive to your appointment. The intake form is included in Info & Intake Sheet for New & Returning Clients. Download this document, print and complete the included Intake/Interview and Quality Review Sheet prior to your appointment. We also have forms at our tax preparation site, but this requires you to arrive at MCCC at least 20 minutes early to allow ample time for completion.

APPOINTMENTS
Prior to making your appointment, review our tax preparation process. Review What to Bring to your Appointment to ensure you have all the required information we need to successfully complete your tax return.

Appointments are for 1 hour and begin at 12:00, 1:00, 2:15, and 3:15 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday starting 2/11/2025. Since appointments are for 1 hour only, if you have a more complex return (more than 15 pages of tax documentation), or have previously needed additional time during a prior tax year return, please schedule 2 consecutive appointments to avoid having to come back at another time to finish.
